Brent Oil Price Tops $93 as U.S.-Iran Impasse Persists
In early morning trade in Europe, the international benchmark crude, Brent, rose by 1.95% to top $93 per barrel, at $93.48. The U.S. benchmark, WTI Crude, had exceeded the $85 per barrel threshold and was trading 2% higher at $86.12 a barrel.
Texas-based oil companies among first to sign contracts with Venezuela
According to Venezuelan state media, SLB and Hunt Oil Company signed contracts with state-owned oil company, Petróleos de Venezuela, S.A. (PDVSA) on Tuesday in Houston. SLB is a Houston-based oilfield services company and Hunt Oil Company is an independent exploration and production company based in Dallas.
