Texas Greenlights $216 Million Loan for 456 MW Houston Gas Plant
Governor Greg Abbott announced on Aug. 4 that the Texas Energy Fund (TEF) has approved a low-interest loan to support construction of a 456-megawatt natural gas power plant in Houston. The project is being developed by NRG Energy Inc. and is expected to begin operations by summer 2026.
USA Crude Oil Stocks Drop Week on Week
U.S. commercial crude oil inventories, excluding those in the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR), decreased by 2.4 million barrels from the week ending August 15 to the week ending August 22, the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) highlighted in its latest weekly petroleum status report.
