New natural gas plant in Permian to produce 1,350 MW of power for Texas grid

Another natural gas power plant is being built in Texas, this time in the Permian Basin in west Texas. It’s the largest capacity project to date through a Texas Energy Fund program. Competitive Power Ventures is building a 1,350 megawatt (MW) natural gas generation facility at CPV’s Basin Ranch Energy Center in Ward County, west of Odessa. 

Oil Prices Fall for a Third Straight Month as OPEC+ Considers Boosting Output

Weak factory activity in China, a stronger U.S. dollar, and reports that OPEC+ is going to add more barrels to production in December have combined to push oil prices lower, setting them on a course to their third monthly decline in a row. At the time of writing, Brent crude was trading at $64.61 per barrel, with West Texas Intermediate at $60.16 per barrel.
