In a major initiative in the Permian Basin, Phillips 66 has brought its new Dos Picos II natural gas processing plant online just southeast of Midland with 220 million cubic feet of daily capacity.
Methane emissions intensity for upstream oil and natural gas operations in the Permian Basin declined by more than 50% in two years, according to an analysis by S&P Global Commodity Insights. The basin, located in southeastern New Mexico and far west Texas, produces roughly half of the crude oil and one fifth of natural gas in the country.
